Synthesis

Synthesis refers to the process of analyzing and interpreting data collected from various research methods, such as user interviews, surveys, observations, and usability tests. The goal of synthesis is to identify patterns, insights, and themes that emerge from the data in order to gain a deeper understanding of user needs, behaviors, and preferences.

In my previous article I went through the process of collecting data about the market through research the market of the coffee shops in Egypt then building user persona, interview a user and came up with some notes from the interview. By the the end I conducted a competitive audit to find the gaps inside the market so that I could fill this gaps. You can find this article Here.

Problem, Goal and Hypothesis statements

After analyzing all the outcomes from the previous steps, it is now the time to define the 3 elements which will help me to evaluate my work at the end of the project, these elements are:

  1. Problem Statement Which articulates the specific issue or challenge that the UX research aims to address. It defines the problem space and provides context for the research. The problem statement should be clear, concise, and focused on the user’s needs or pain points.

My Problem statement is
Essa is a Working person who needs to drink a cup of coffee before work because he couldn’t work properly otherwise. ”

2. Goal Statement Which outlines the desired outcome or objective that the UX research intends to achieve. It defines what success looks like and provides a direction for the research efforts. The goal statement should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). It helps guide the research activities and evaluate their effectiveness.

My Goal statement is
“ Our Coffee house App will let users order coffee from nearest café which will affect working persons By saving time consumed waiting in lines to order We will measure effectiveness by the number of orders made ”

3. Hypothesis Statement Which proposes a testable assumption or prediction about the relationship between variables. It serves as a starting point for experimentation and validation. The hypothesis statement typically follows an “if-then” format, where the researcher predicts how a change or intervention will impact user behavior or outcomes.

My Hypothesis statement is
If Essa can get delivery service and pay in credit to order very fast
Then he will save time and will get to work on time. ”
