One of the things that helps to sympathize with your users is to imagine the state they will be in while using your app. Also, imagine how will they interact with your app while doing the main task (Ordering coffee in this example). To achieve this we use 2 types of story boards:
- Big Picture Storyboard
Storyboard that focuses on the user experience. In which, we think about how people will use the product throughout their day and why that product will be useful. It shows the emotional engagement that a user will have with our app or with any product.
I created a storyboard in which I imagined the user is just woke up and in need to order coffee so that it would be ready for him/her when he is going to work.
2. Close-up Storyboard
Storyboard that focuses on the product instead of on the user experiencing that product. What happens on each screen of the product? What does the user do to transition from one screen to another? It is less about emotion since we’re not focused on the user. Instead, it is focused on the practicalities of the design itself.
